Ch...Ch...Ch...Ch... Change

Changes. I was thinking of how hectic the past month has been. But has it been any more nutz than the month before or the month to come? Life is (can be) a very busy affair. I think back on a few years ago and then wander even further back into the dust bins of old mental photographs. Life was just as full, just as busy so what happened? What changed? Does life really change or do we change? There have always been wars & peace, feast and famine, rain & sun.... you get the drift.

I am starting to believe that life really does not change all that much. We are worried new technology will displace workers, replace "computer driven assembly line" with "steam driven machine" and you have the same concern of 100 years ago. Replace "concerns over flu vaccine shortage" & ""increasing AIDS epidemic" with " plague kills half of city population" and it could be 500 years ago.

Man gets up in the morning with concerns of shelter, safety and feeding his family, pick a point in time between yesterday and Adam and this holds true. No, I fear life does not change, just our ability to cope, adapt, learn, and grow. At first there was a sadness in the realization of this, perhaps no hope for life to change for "a better tomorrow."

But then a light dawned (at first I thought it was just indigestion from Taco bell that I had for dinner.) If life does not change, then it is we who change. And if this holds true, then we are not powerless. Life is not this behometh of a steamroller. We have all the power and all the control with God guiding us. Fate does not control you, it only changes the road map. You alone make the decision of which path to travel, to follow or not to follow. Some people are handed an overwelming bucket of misfortune and yet they rise to stratospheric heights of success and personal accomplishment. While others are given "life" on a silver platter and end up in a cardboard box. Personal choice, personal actions, personal responsibility.

If life is hectic, make changes to "slow it down". If life is sad, focus more on the beauty and positive things that surround us. If life is good, enjoy it, do more of it & spread it around.

If you want a better tomorrow, GO OUT & MAKE ONE!!Life does not change, we do. Make a choice as to how you will change.

A two way street?? (signal when merging)

Communication...

Here we all are,
just blogging our little fingers off.

Is this communication?

We talk, we email, we phone.
We sing, laugh, cry & shout.
We pray, we curse.
We jump, we stomp, we smile, we pout.

We are coached on our communications..... "stand up sraight, speak loud, make eye contact."
We are cautioned in our ways, "you better not pout, you better not cry..."
We are rewarded, "....album sales topped 3 million today...."
We are punished, "bar of soap where...!"
Through our words and actions we make war and we make peace.

Still, we talk - talk - talk.....

What is this drive, this need we humans have to connect and communicate? Since before recorded time, man was a "packing animal." We have sought each other out and communicated. The bible says we all spoke the same language unitl that little "tower of Babel incident." The United Nations is now a muddled hornets nest of translators and teleprompters. Yet we can come together in the universal languages of music, art, sporting competion and love.

What is it we want when we communicate?

Is it to propogate our thoughts, ideas and opinions?
Is it to share and perhaps strenghthen our ideals?
Does sharing the pain lessen it through spreading it around?
Does sharing the joy cause it to grow?
Do we communicate to understand?
Or do we communicate just to connect because we need it?

Go out and communicate, it's good for the human race !!

Who am I?

Who am I?

We can be so very many and at times unable to answer that simple question. Who we are often depends on the view of the person asking. You are a child to one but a parent to another. You are the student but yet the teacher. You could be the foe or the ally. Satan or Saviour, Panacea or Poisin.

We are the culmination of all that has gone before. Each day adds another layer. Are we all that different from the old ones, the trees? We have our roots and we stretch to the sky, We are what you see on the outside but inside , we are the many layers that hold our strengths, our weakness, that bear the scars of years gone and wear the pride of new growth. Ever changing but somehow the same. You are not the person you were yesterday and not yet the one you will be tomorrow. To answer who are you can only be a brief snapshot of an everchanging moment in time.

I have been called many things. I am merely another voice in the world....

One's trash = Another's treasure

What exactly is "being wrong?" I was told today that I had everything all wrong. Who's to say that they were in the right?

One person's "wrong" is another's "right"

Wrong is so often simply a matter of perspective. Personally, I feel labeling someone "wrong" or "right" is vain and self-important. Implying you alone hold the holy grail to wisdom and truth. You are simply what you are, you believe what you believe and that is the beauty of God's infinitely diverse universe. Co-exist and celebrate yourself for being who you are.
